Looks better on TV Aug 24, 2010 I had a $5 coupon, so I thought I would give the product a try.
The product was $12.99 at my local Stop & Shop.
I have used the regular spray can of Woollite heavy duty for numerous years.
So thought this applicator stick was a grand idea and time saver.
It foamed for about 3 feet on a 28inch wide runner and the can gave up
removed the can and shook it and very little came out,
and it seemed once you flipped the stick over to scrub the 1st 3 feet
then the foam rake no longer wanted to work ... I'm a big guy and not sure
how a 98 pound person could get the right angle/pressure to operate this thing.
Poorly designed, TOY, for gadget minded people like myself.
A waste of my time and money. Don't waste your time or money.
A total joke. Aug 18, 2010 I'm on a roll of reviewing all these bad products we've bought over the past couple of years. This is one of the worst of them all. The TV commercial for the rug stick makes it seem like it's so simple to use and so efficient. We didn't really expect that, we're not stupid, but we didn't expect it to be this bad.
First off, the price is pretty high for such a cheaply made product. The construction of the stick is very shoddy and though it can stand up to pressure, it feels like it's going to snap at any moment. The bristles get easily clogged from the combination of the foam and carpet fibers when you get to rubbing it and when you push down to dispense the foam it again feels like it's going to snap in half as the metal begins to bow. In fact, after a few uses, the dang thing did in fact bend. Feels like they made it out of cheap, melted down scrap metal from China.
Second, the foam comes out fairly evenly, though it takes some pushing on the stick, but it's not nearly enough to cover a big area. If you're using this for an area rug, fine I guess, but you'll need probably three containers of the foam to get a bigger area. At that price, you're better off renting a Rug Doctor and getting it done right.
Third, the product itself is a total joke. The foam rubs into the carpet just fine, but it doesn't absolutely nothing. We rubbed this stuff in our carpet several times and even bought another, full refill and tried it again. You'd probably have more luck rubbing in soap and water yourself. It definitely does not work as advertised and this idea that it "lifts dirt out" is a complete joke. Our carpet looked the same afterwards, maybe a bit lighter, but that was mainly because of the foam, until we swept it up and saw it did squat. We tried a Rug Doctor on it and there was a noticeable difference with only one sweep.
The Woolite rug stick is overall a horrible product. It doesn't do what it claims to do, it costs a lot, and it's very poorly constructed. There's a reason it wasn't easy for us to find in stores and why it's not advertised anymore. Get this thing off of the market now!
It's o.k, not the greatest that's for sure Jun 15, 2010 I bought this today and thought I would try it out. I have in-laws coming this weekend and don't have the time to pull out the carpet shampooer to clean the whole house. Woolite as always had a great name and I LOVE the oxy pet stain spray. It's AWSOME!!! Thought I would try this out as a fast carpet cleaner. It's very easy to put togeter and I love the brush for srubbing and the Woolite spray, as for the spray part of this stick...it SUCKS! Overall, it did a O.K job for small areas (stairs, hallways, small rugs, and in front the front door). It doesn't do as great as job as I thought it would or would have liked it too, but was worth the money I spent for a fast clean. I would say if you are looking for a quick clean, this is Great! If not, I would sick to a carpet shampooer for deep clean.
False advertising claim-don't buy it Jun 07, 2010 I purchased the Rug Stick with the idea it would actually work. Well was I disappointed. I had four different black spots on a med light brown carpet. This product only highlighted the stains. It did nothing to remove them. I will be driving the 15 miles each way to the store where I purchased it for the return. :(
DO NOT BUY Jun 06, 2010 Completely useless.
The stick is flimsy, and you have to apply alot of force to get the foam to come out.
The foam doesn't clean at all, adds chemical smell and nothing else.
It says on the box that multiple applications are required with at least two hours of drying time in between.
Do you have 12 hours to devote to your carpet?
The cost of this product + the time you will have to invest is rediculous compared to the 30-40$ you could pay a pro to steam clean everything....
Why would you want this pos ?
