Great vacuum, great seller May 06, 2010

I bought this as a gift for my daughter, and she loves it! Unfortunately, it developed a "clunking" noise within a couple of weeks, and she discovered there was a metal piece that was bent. Per Miele's instructions she took it to an authorized dealer who said the damage could not have been caused by usage, but the company rep was not convinced. To make a long story short, Mr. Vac & Mrs. Sew took care of the problem with amazing speed, and the vacuum is now fixed.
My daughter loves this vacuum; not only how well it works but also how quiet it is. When I need a new vacuum (which will probably be sooner rather than later!) I will buy this vacuum from this seller.
This is a good reminder to always check a product right out of the box - turn it upside down and look underneath - to be sure there is no damage.

Miele S7 Twist - great vacuum for the price Sep 12, 2010

I replaced the Oreck XL which I bought only because I've had back surgeries and can't lift or push a heavy vac. The Oreck actually does an okay job with the pet hair but it was getting old so I thought it might be time for a better vacuum cleaner. I was concerned about the weight of the Miele causing back strain but the swivel feature makes it very easy to maneuver around furniture, it almost feels like it's self-propelled. Because the S7 Twist is made in Germany, at $429 it's inexpensive even for a base model and it's a good deal for all the features you get. The vacuum bags are heavy duty to keep the dust in and the vacuum housing and motor are both sealed to keep dust in. Contrary to one review, replacement bags are easily available online, locally at Bed Bath and at mom & pop vacuum retailers. The vacuum housing and motor housings are both sealed, there's a clean air filter (which can be replaced with a hepa filter), and there are two motors - one for the carpet roller and one for the vacuum suction. Many vacuums in this price range use one motor with the carpet roller powered by the vacuum suction via a belt. The carpet roller automatically turns off when you put the vacuum in an upright position or run over an object such as the powercord. We tried out all the models of the Miele S7 before opting for the base model. The only option I'd be interested in is the hepa filter and that can be added when I need to change the filter. I'm sure there are probably better vacuums out there but at the end of the day I'm not inclined to make a science project out of buying a vacuum. We bought from a reputable retailer who has a generous return policy but so far this is a keepr. Because retailer's websites and ads aren't always accurate, I highly recommend visiting the manufacturer website to review the owner's manual before buying.

"I don't like to vaccum, but I might cheat on my broom now." Jun 13, 2011
By Mat and Sarah My boyfriend bought this vacuum, took it out of the box, and proclaimed that he might marry the vacuum instead of me. What does he love so much? Twisting head, great suction, well-designed vacuum bags, low noise level, multi-use function, and insanely long hose ("i'm vacuuming the living room drapes from in the kitchen!"). He also appreciates, for some reason, that the instruction manuel comes with a hanger clip (?). My boyfriend does not like cleaning, but after unboxing "Beast" as he now calls it, he then went and vacuumed the whole house, smiling the entire time. I am shocked and amazed and... scared, quite frankly.
Girlfriends and wives, buy this vacuum for your man and he'll clean the house willingly. Also buy this vacuum for yourself. After cleaning houses for a living for five years, this is easily the best vacuum I've worked with. The attachements also are also attached, meaning you don't have to carry around a bucket of vacuum heads and tubes. It cleans carpet and hardwood equally well, and even had a handle for carrying up stairs. I would buy anything from this brand now after the love affair we've begun with "Beast." It's a little more expensive, but worth it 100%.
Basically, buy this vacuum and feel content with your life as Miele is a brand known for quality. I think it also has a "breakfast in bed" feature.

Really good vacuum cleaner Jan 22, 2011
By No-Nonsense Consumer I am glad I bought this, even though it's the most expensive vacuum cleaner I ever bought. It has great suction. I love the swivel feature, which makes it very maneuverable. The switches are all in the right place. And every part of it is solid and well made, including the filter bags. I appreciate that the dirt stays in the bag and doesn't leak out around the opening. Also, the bags hold a lot of dirt and don't need replacing often, so not a big expense. The cord is nice and long. That attachments work well and the hose is easy to use and put back. I also like how easy it is to put this vacuum away in a small footprint in the broom closet. The reason I don't give it five stars is that the electrical cord unwinds and falls to the floor as I vacuum, so whether I want to or not, I end up with a tangle of cord on the floor (I have fixed this with a small clasp that keeps most of the cord spooled up neatly). And it is a bit heavier than I expected. Still, it's the best vacuum I ever used and far, far better than past Hoover or Eureka cheap vacuum cleaners.

Love this Vacuum Dec 21, 2010
By Taz47 Love, love, love this vacuum. It is so unbelievably quiet. One of my dogs is obsessed with attacking any vacuum but the Miele is so quiet that she leaves this one alone.
The Miele S7 Twist just rolls and curves around furniture legs with ease and does a beautiful job picking up even the finest dirt/dust. My daughter has a Dyson but I find it very heavy and hard to push. The Miele is not too heavy and the carry handle on the back makes it very convenient to carry up stairs, etc. The cord is also nice and long.
