it was time to replace the original HEPA filter. The filter code is conveniently on a sticker that came with the vacuum This item is the exact same as the original equipment. Worked fine, no problem at all.

This item is represented as being factory original with the picture, but I was sent a product made by EnviroCare Technologies. It did fit, though it took some hard pushing as it was a slightly different size.

It was tough to figure out the right filter replacement. But after some searching online I came to amazon and found the right one at the most reasonable price, Eureka 61830A Premium HEPA Filter Upright HF-5. It arrived within a few days and fit perfectly into the vaccuum. I am pleased so far (let's see how long it lasts) with this product. And have since made a few more purchases on Amazon!
