Yellow part is good, but the foam isn't. Apr 29, 2009

The yellow filter holder is of good quality and comparable with original Dyson part, or so it seems. The blue foam insert is made out of very different foam than what Dyson had used. I don't know for sure, but I assume that the filtration characteristics of the foam are critical to the performance, longevity and safety of operation. The air passing through the foam becomes the cooling air for the motor. If there was too much dust, or if the foam would clog faster than Dyson's, motor damage could potentially result. I decided to play it safe and get the foam from Dyson, but use the yellow holder as mine got brittle with age and broke.

While the product description stated the product was a genuine dyson filter, what I recieved was an obvious knock off lacking in quality. It was also the incorrect size. Several attempts to contact the seller resulted in no response. Thankfully, Amazon.com stood by their guarantees and ensured I was given a complete refund.

I typed in Dyson Animal replacement filter and I thought I ordered the correct part as it looked the same. My filter had no numbers on it to order. The part came very quickly but it was too big for my Dyson Animal. I ended up just cutting the foam to fit my part. I agree with the other reviewer who said this foam seems to be of lesser quality than the original foam. Lesson learned.

Perfect size and I recommend that if you have a Dyson always have a back up filter just in case of smell or if you want to clean the original you have you won't have to wait for it to dry to vacuum.

new one and this is the one. Works well and glad to tell you no problems. Easy to clean and reuse
