good replacemnt for the mop Dec 09, 2008
By liminer After 3 years of usage my steam started leaking water and got my floor very wet. I thought I might need a new mop but after I changed the filter, the problem's fixed. Just remember always use distilled water, it will last longer.

For Filter's sake, follow directions...... Nov 02, 2009

Have had the Bissell steam mop for about 6 months now and am pleased with it's performance, except cleaning grout. We have city (hard) water, but I decided to use it instead of distilled water due to cost. I use tap water right out of our heated spout (for tea) and plug the mop in and go. I mop weekly, and all was well until about a month ago. I accidentally left water in the mop container, haven't mopped in 3-4 weeks, (back to school busy)and PHEW!! Mildew grew in the filter and the whole house STUNK like mildew when I used the mop. But the filter has lasted 6 months. But when they say "Empty out the water between moppings", FOLLOW DIRECTIONS!! Oh, and my mop heads are wearing out. I, too have ceramic tile (HATE IT!!!!)and the rough grout wears out the pad. Steam cleaner doesn't clean the grout well, by the way....I have to be satisfied that I steamed it, so it's sanitary, if not pretty.

An Important Part Feb 04, 2009
By swissmiss I have the Bissell steam cleaner mop and this is the filter you need to use for this product. It is easy to install, does a good job, and you need to replace it when the time is due. The only negative thing is that it is rather expensive, considering the cost of the steam mop. After only 4 or 5 filter changes, you have paid for another mop.

Works great with my Bissell 1867-7 Steam Mop Sep 10, 2010
By Jana Taylor Changing filters was easy, and it was easy to tell by the color change from green to grayish/black that a change was needed. Also my mop seems to make weird noises when the filter is bad, I don't know if anyone else has noticed that.
It is recommended you change the filter when it is used up or you can do permanent damage to your machine.
I also have found that using a tiny bit of vinegar in the water tank keeps all the internal workings clean and mold free.
The filter just pulls up and off and the new one just snaps right in place and the water tank goes on top. Couldn't be more simple.

The Bissell floor steamer Jun 23, 2009
By T. Colney I recently had a new duraceramic floor installed and I wanted an easier way of cleaning the floor.I have been researching for a steamer and decided that we had a bissell floor scrubber when I was growing up,so I purchased the Bissell steamer and it is so amazing. No rinse,no chemicals and the floor drys in no time at all what more could you want. The only thing I would do while I purchased over the line is that I would buy extra filters with the steamer.
