Change the belt! Feb 22, 2010
By J. Gardner
"Reeboy"
Belt fits perfectly. Beater bar runs like new. I recomend, as soon as it starts to slip...change the belt, it will give the vacuum the best chance to operate the way it should and save frustration for you. I might even do it by time. Put a new belt on, if it starts to slip in two years, then next time in 20 months + or - put a new one on and save the headache of planning on running the vacuum to get ready for guests, etc. and finding out you have to stop and do that! Also, take that cue to clean the beater bar, hoses, filters, etc. Simply cleaning all the junk out will make your vac seem brand new. The older Bissell that my wife bought a while ago works great, but looks like something out of a Mad Max movie, with a thousand little nooks & crannies for hair and pen tops and pieces of plastic bag to get caught in. Before you buy a new one...take it apart, clean it out and put a new belt on. The belts are cheap!

Changing belts makes a big difference Nov 05, 2007
By Kerblink I have had a Bissell vacuum and I love it. After about an year of use, the belt started to slip, so I bought these belts and new filters and changed them. The vacuum is as good as new.

Horrible ruined my vacuum Apr 25, 2011
By Chris I purchased this as a replacement for belt 9 #32074. Snapped, started smoking after 2 minutes of use and left rubber particles all over my house. THIS IS NOT SUITABLE REPLACEMENT FOR BELT 9. When I removed the brush the dowel had actually melted! Burned melted plastic would not even allow for a replacement.

Little tight but that's alright. Aug 01, 2011
By N. Bower At first this seemed too small so I set it aside to return. Then I did two things...one read the not so good reviews and two looked at Bissell.com and they have an installation video. Upon watching that video I noted that the guy strained a little on the installation. So I compared my stretched belt with the new one. So then went back and completed the installation. At that point it was a little snug so I did the test drive. Ran the sucker for a moment and stopped to smell for burning rubber or plastic. Then ran for about 5 minutes and still no issue. My bissell is a model 3590. Works like a charm.

By Sue I purchased a #9 drive belt and instead I received a #7 drive belt. Will have to return, won't fit my vacuum.
